Within his first few days on the job, London Mayor Boris Johnson demonstrated his party's committment to fairness and the environment, by removing the half-price fare scheme that gave Londoners on income support cheap access to public transport.
This means that by the mayor's own figures, around 75,000 of the poorest Londoners will now have to pay double for their bus and tram fares.
